Faroe Islands
- Spælimenninir, is a lively group of six musicians that play traditional and contemporary folk music from Scandinavia. While they are based in the Faroes, the line-up includes one native Faroese, one Swede, two Americans and two Danes. This international collaboration has resulted in a varied repertoire which reflects each member's heritage and illustrates the links between the music traditions of the Scandinavian countries and the United States.

- Etno.net, is about new winds and solid tradition of folk music! Etno.net is part of the publishing activities of Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department. Their recordings are unpublished music - out of the ordinary curricular activities and wild experiments, while there is also a section dedicated to tried and tested, learning material that can also be used in self-studies.

- Alamaailman Vasarat, "Ethnic brass punk", "kosher-kebab jazz"... some attempts to categorize Alamaailman Vasarat's style. Many people have admitted that one must hear music of Alamaailman Vasarat to understand what it really is about. One time you can sense flavours of ethnic music from different corners of the world combined with punky or metallic elements created by heavy cello and brutal drumming. Another moment they may surprisingly dash into a wild distorted polka or to a melancholic waltz à la Salvation Army.
- Band'o, Seppo, Jemina and Selina Sillanpää are known for their fresh new attitude of playing a mixture of folk music from various countries and original songs and combining it all in their own original way.
- Barka Vall, are a new Etno Folk Rock band from Åland. Their music is a blend of rock and Folk Music, acoustic instruments and electric instruments.
- Burlakat, versatility, powerful interpretations, Karelian cheerfulness, plaintive tones - these are the hallmark of Burlakat, a folk group from Rääkkylä in eastern Finland. Over the years the band has developed into a seamless whole, whose unique brand of music has been strongly influenced by each of its members. A speciality of the group is the revival of songs from eastern Karelia, sung in Karelian, in unconventional arrangements.
- Damhsa, is an Irish dancing group performing for private and public audiences. The group consists of dancers from Finland and Ireland. The group began in January 2005 and they have performed in various parts of Finland. Performances include traditional and non-traditional dances.
- Frigg, is a multitalented Finnish-Norwegian seven who produces fresh Scandinavian folk fiddling accompanied by fretted instruments, upright bass and endless energy. The style they represent is a mixture of Kaustinen (Finland) and Nord-Trondelag (Norway) traditions flavoured with a taste of americana and irish folk music.
- Gjallarhorn, features world music with roots in the Swedish folk music of Finland. A personal and talented echo of the ancient folk music tradition of Scandinavia with its mythical medieval ballads, whirling minuets, prayers in runo-metric chanting and ancient Icelandic rímur epics.
- Arto Järvelä, is one of the most important fiddlers of our time with body of work lasting over two decades. Beginning in the late seventies he formed Finlands top fiddle band JPP in 1982. Thereafter Arto have been playing in most of the Finnish folk groups and as a soloist.
- JPP (Järvelän Pikkupelimannit / Little Folk Musicians of Järvelä), perform folk tunes from their village, and from all over Finland, and new compositions, influenced by Swedish folk music.
- Maria Kalaniemi, accordionist. Her style, the rhythm, is taken from folk music, but the melodies are taken from classical, maybe a little from rock music, but the style is still from folk.
- Kasareikka's reportoire are traditional Finnish folkdances but also dances from other Northern countries and Baltic States.
- Markku Lepistö, is an accordionist known from many Finnish top folk bands (Värttinä, Doina Klezmer, the duo with Aldargaz mandolinist Petri Hakala, Progmatics etc.). His music is inspired by the strong heritage of his Pohjanmaa (Ostrobothnia), where he was born, with flavours from America, Brasil and Ireland.
- Marja Mattlar, is an individual Finnish singer-songwriter. Her music is based on poetical lyrics and strong atmosphere. Marja's intention is to make albums that are direct, uncompromising and will, musically, stand the test of time.
- Mustarastas, it is possible easily identify a northern spirit in the powerful melodies and enigmatic sounds they make use of. Furthermore, they've combined tones from Celtic folkmusic and old Finnish hymn tradition in an original way.
- Nefes, this band is definitely one and only Finnish-Turkish-New-Zealander acoustic band, playing Turkish music in Finland.
- Piirpauke, has been a pioneer of World Music for so long, that some people might take the band for granted.
- Pohjannaula, is an interesting combination of rock and Finnish ethnic elements. The strong ethnic flavour originates from the old Finnish mythology. (mainly in Finnish)
- Kimmo Pohjonen, is one of the most respected and in-demand musicians and performers in Finland. An accordionist of exceptional ability and imagination, Kimmo's musical history goes back more than twenty years in rock, folk, avant-garde, improvisation, classical, dance and theatre music projects.
- Progmatics, urban folk music groove from the Finnish forests.
- Slobo Horo, is a 10-piece Finnish group of ethnic music experts whose horizons are much wider than would appear: Balkan spirit... Turkish spirit...
- Svirki Svirjat, a Finnish-Turkish-New Zealander quartet playing Balkan-inspired acoustic music.
- Tarujen Saari, is a folkrock group that represents the all-European music tradition. Songs are collected from the books and old recordings published in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden - and naturally in Finland. The members of the group translate the lyrics in Finnish and also write their own songs and lyrics close to the style of the old traditional songs.
- Tervakello, is an orchestra using mainly traditional instruments. The basic instruments are Udu-drums. With Udu-drums the Tervakello conjures up a shamanistic, constant sound scenery. Also the wind instruments have especial role in the music. Tervakello's music is based on improvisation and ambience.
- Troka, Finnish folk music.
- Värttinä, explore and revive Karelian / Finno-Ugric musical tradition and discover new, more exciting ways of arranging and performing.
- Vilddas, was founded in Tampere in autumn 1997-2021. The cooperation of the three founding members Marko Jouste, Mikko Vanhasalo and Annukka Hirvasvuopio began with the idea of combining the sounds of Turkish-Arabian ud lute and ney flute with Sámi yoik.

- Le Condor, this musical ensemble represents the traditional folkloric music of Arles. Created in spring 2000, they have become today, a family gathering more than 70 musicians dedicated to the promotion of a new Era traditional music. Indeed, local icon instrument "Galoubet tambourin" is brotherly playing with Scottish Bagpipes and Snaredrums, African Congos, Harmonica, Piccolo and other instruments from here and there.

- Cosmic Drone, is the fruit of a long project initiated by the bands electro-acoustic hurdy gurdy player, Stéphane Durand. Their repertoire is made up to a great extent of traditional singing of the south of Italy, pizzica and tarantella, of Greek Salentinese, Neapolitan tammuriata, nourished on the neighbouring influences of Greece and Albania.

- Gabriel Vallejo, was born in Argentina, but lives in Paris since 1998 where works as a pianist, composer and arranger. He's presently putting together a new contemporary tango and Argentinean folklore ensembles (quartet, trio and duets) playing original compositions written and arranged by him.
- Los Vironaires, bal folk from the Poitou - Charentes Region.
- Gabriel Yacoub, is recognized as one of France's foremost folk/pop artists, with more than 30 releases. Originally the founder of the group Malicorne, he has been known to push the envelope of folk genres and pop music performance, and maintains a faithful following of crossover fans.
