* Turkey
  • Muammer Ketencoglu, accordion player. His interest in folk music, which at the beginning was focused on contemporary Greek music and Rebetiko, continued with a deep affinity to other people's music as well, and ultimately got concentrated on Balkan music.
  • Murat Ses, emphasizes Anatolia's unique ethnic structure hosting a myriad of cultures since centuries, so that the careful listener will find out a traditional Islamic chant in a peacefully coexistence with an Eurasian church chant. His main influences range from Pink Floyd, Traffic, and Jimmy Smith to Eastern Mediterranean, Levantine, and Central Asian cultures and music.

* Tuva (Russian Federation)
  • Huun-Huur-Tu, are perhaps the best known practitioners (of throat singing) and accompany themselves on all manner of strange and wonderful instruments. The resulting sound is as compelling as a wild gallop across the steppes.
